Planning
Bringing together professionals who help museums to discover opportunities for focusing and expanding message, creating greater public engagement, and identifying new sources of revenue.
Lefèbvre Consulting provides:
- assessment of the visitor experience
- evaluation of operations and interpretation
- strategic planning
Example:
Minnesota Historical Society asked Lefèbvre Consulting to help revitalize the Alexander Ramsey House in St. Paul, a mansion completed in 1872, once home to the state’s first territorial governor. The property had functioned as a house museum since the mid-1960s, but declining attendance and revenue had forced the organization to shut its doors to visitors for most of the year. Lefèbvre Consulting guided staff and community stakeholders through a process of resource assessment, audience evaluation and an examination of institutional vision to identify new areas of community involvement, site accessibility and improved visitor experiences. The purpose of this long-term project is to re-open the Ramsey House with a new overall program and operating model that will be culturally relevant and financially sustainable.
